Fathers day/Retirement/Lauren celebration at La Quille Restaurant
It had been a while since we had a date night with the boys and their wives. What a perfect night to celebrate Marks retirement, Fathers Day and Lauren graduating from High School.
The boys paid for dinner. The night turned into being very sentimental when Ethan presented his dad with a basketball with the boys hand prints all over the ball, representing in paint their favorite NBA team. Why? Because Mark loved watching his sons play basketball.
Ethan also wrote a touching letter and tribute to his Dad from all the brothers reflecting upon his "hands" and how they had blessed their lives.
Mark started to read the tribute but started to cry so I finished it.
I must print the words for posterity sake. These are tender memories from sons to their Father in appreciation for all he had done in their lives.

5 sons- Josef, Jacob, Ethan, Brandon and Justin are here by your hands.
As newborns you held us in your hands
Baby blessings through the Priesthood by your hands.
Christmas mornings were the best with everything we could have ever wanted, laid out by your hands.
Easter traditions from egg decorating to finding eggs hidden by your hands.
Playing chess, Risk, Shogun, Axis and Allies and spending quality time with our Father was and is hands down the best.
Playing baseball, basketball, soccer, football, you were always there cheering and clapping with your hands.
Family vacations we were given flash cash from your wallet through your hands.
Entering into the waters of Baptism, becoming a member of the true church, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost was all performed by your worthy hands.
Pancakes every Saturday morning made by your hands.
Learning to work in the yard every Saturday morning was led by the example of your hands.
Teaching us to work hard and reward yourself for working hrs with 5 tacos for a buck, or 2 Hardees burgers for a buck, or a Rax Roast beef sandwich, maybe an occasional Big Juan or gourmet burger was all led by your hands.
The 5 boys jumping and sleeping on the trampoline when out of the distance pops a masked man ( who always had the best masks) growling, making noises and shaking his hands.
The best spook alleys ever created were produced by your hands.
History and reelection is one thing, seeing the photographs and videos of every big event and hearing those words, "Merry Christmas" 1980 or whatever.
Memories live from your hands.
Driving in the car and singing songs like mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys, to Oh Danny Boy, To up on the housetop, to How much is that doggie in the window? and pointing out the dogs with your hands.
Being an example to the boys of how to treat their future wise and how to love and appreciate the mother of your kids was shown the way by your hands.
We received the Aaronic Priesthood and advanced as deacons, teachers, and priests. Later we received the Melchizedek Priesthood and advanced as Elders and all followed your example and went on missions.
These ordinances performed by your hands.
On a Friday or Saturday night going with you or having you come home with movies, south seas, or Kay's pizza in your hands.
Lending a hand for us getting jobs, Eriks, Valley Bank property management, Certified Cable, Zions Bank, Capitol Premium.
From forts, to trampolines, to slides to full court basketball, to a hot tub and swimming pool, you always gave the boys the coolest yard and the best place to gather hands down.
At early ages we all had our own places and a future to start our family, all because your hand cosigned for us.
By your hands 24 grand children carry on the Heugly name and tradition Father.
Our hands will never measure up to yours, but we wanted you to know how much we love you and appreciate your hand in everything we do.
