Georgetown was next.. A charming town with lots of history and great food.
We stopped for dinner, and on our way saw "DC cupcakes".
There was a line all around the block to get in.
We made it and bought a dozen cupcakes. So delicious.
We decided to stay the night in DC, and we found a delightful hotel that served breakfast..
We finally made it to the White House. Mark and I have been there before, but not Liz and the
littles.
Obama must have been home because we couldn't get close to the gates for all the security guards, but we were still able to get a few pictures.
Jake and Liz
We saw the Washington monument, Lincoln's memorial,
Jefferson memorial, The US Capitol Building, Library of congress, the National mall.

Most of the day was spent going through the Smithsonian's, the space museum, the American history museum, the Natural history museum and the holocaust museum.
This is a silver tree. It was amazing.
Dorothy shoes from the wizard of oz. They were very small.
Found a little religion at the Smithsonian..

Mexican food anyone?
Way cute chairs.
Alex loved their smiley face fries.
Our last day we had some extra time till our flight departed
so we decided to go to Monticello and see the Thomas Jefferson home.
The grounds were spectacular. Acres and acres of lush green land.
This was the garden area
This was the back view, just as beautiful as the front.
