Did you know that Virginia was named for England's "Virgin" Queen
Elizabeth 1?
Me neither.

Me neither.
Day one:
We visited the historical Triangle--Jamestown, Williamsburg and York town
History trivia:
Jamestown--Was the first english settlement in the new world, often referred to as the birthplace of a nation. Horrible fact: Starvation was so bad the people fed on horses and other animals, boots, and other leather items. In 1610 a man was burned at the stake for killing and planning to eat his pregnant wife.
The statue is to commemorate the first settlement in America,
and the birthplace of Virginia.

We all know the story about Pocahontas, well....here is her statue.
Did you know the first Thanksgiving was in Virginia in 1619 not plymouth rock?
First James town church
Williamsburg
We found a little French restaurant that was perfect for our hunger needs.
As long as Bridger could have mac and cheese he was a happy boy.
I'd say he had enough.
The highlight of lunch was to ask the cute girl who worked
at the restaurant to have her picture taken with Andrew.
Afterwards, I thought he would be embarrassed
or mad at Grandpa for doing this, but he simply said "Thank you"
and smiled the rest of the day!
There were butterflies EVERYWHERE!
We had to lock up some pretty cute grand kids for having too much fun.
Alex really wanted this hat, but we didn't buy it.
Pretty cute stuff.
We all loved Williamsburg the most.
We bought a cute book inside this store called "Monsters eat whiney kids"
It was a perfect book for a perfect whiney moment.

Hot tubbin it
Go Bridger..Go

YORK TOWN
This was the site of the final victory of the American Revolution
Time to pack it up and head back to our villas, and swim. What a fun first day!
