My home is a refuge not only from the world, but from my worries, my troubles, my concerns. I like beautiful things around me. I like to be beautiful because it delights my eyes and my soul is lifted up.

Memorial Day weekend post # 2

Memorial day for the Nielsen family (my fam) was
always about visiting the graves and getting together with family.
My Dad loved this holiday. He planned the events, and invited all
the cousins, aunts and uncles on my
mom's side of the family..
So much fun!!
When my dad died in 1991 the
party at the park ended.
But every year when Memorial day comes
around we remember Dad, and his love for his family.
So this post is dedicated to you dad.
What do you think about your posterity?
Pretty amazing huh?
***************
Everyone brought their own lunch.
I provided home made potato salad, chips, fresh fruit
veggie tray and creamies and ice cream bars...
I'm guessing we downed about 60 of them!!!

Here's Leah and Alex sharing a happy moment at the pool

The kids love jumping on the diving board
and throwing the ball to the hoop.
Do you see the ball in the air?
Love the view from our patio of the pool

Time for a creamie break, while watching nick jr.

My cute DIL's

We went to the church baseball diamond
across the street from us and played
kick ball. All of us. 2 teams.

These "littles" played on the bleachers

Alex and Camri rolled down the hill!

Let the game begin.. McKay is throwing the ball.
All you have to do is KICK!!!

Waiting for their turn to kick the ball out of the park..

Amy can kick..Go girl!
Joe used whatever means he could to keep the sun off his head..
Sammy kick it far!!
Your welcome Joe!! Love this pix.
Ethan strategizing where he is going to kick the ball.

After the park, we needed some down time.
Here's Jake giving me the look!
After resting it was in the pool again for another round of
splish splash!

Beau got a new suit..He said he could swim better now that he had
a cars swimming suit!

Annie posing in her princess suit.
 My "bigs" playing basketball
Oh How do we keep track of all the kids?

It was a wonderful day.
We prayed, we pondered, we played hard together as a family.
Is there any other way to celebrate
loved ones on memorial day?
I don't think so, at least not in this family..
