Mark didn’t want any celebration when he retired. He just wanted to drift into the sunset carrying his memories with him. He never has been about being the center of attention. Our son Jake who works at the bank as well, got requests that we have a lunch to celebrate Marks many years of banking with a few of his closest friends.
And…so we did.
We went to Cinnegrill, and it was wonderful. Many stories were shared and many thoughtful gifts were given and greatly appreciated.
All the boys showed up. We will have a special family retirement party where all the couples can come on June 15th at LaQuille. It was very nice that the bank paid for everyone's lunch.
Ethan gave his dad a bag of goodies with all kinds of funny “getting older gifts”, including this hat. The boys gave Mark coke zero and mint cookies, and he got gift certificates from his favorite hang outs.
Jake had a book published for his dad with all kinds of stories and quotes that he had learned from his dad. A lot of time and work went in to this tribute. Jake gave a book to each of the brothers as well. It will be a treasure forever.
It was a wonderful afternoon reflecting on happy times working at the bank.
Happy Retirement Mark. So Far, I am loving having you home.
