As you get older it seems you spend more time with family and less with friends. Makes sense.
Your circle of people narrows and you have less time, and need to prioritize carefully.
That being said, I do love it when there is time to connect and catch up with friends. We all need them, but in different ways.
( I had to add this picture, because Lauren lives with us, and it's so fun to meet all her friends. This is Braden who is serving in the Marines.)
This is Mark Petrey who used to live next door to us.
We had lots of fun parties with him and his wife Becky.
Sometimes marriages don't work out, and you find someone
else that seems to complete you. This is Jacque,
Marks new wife. We were happy to meet her and see the joy in both of their lives.
This is Peter who lost his wife to cancer a year ago.
The loneliness and sadness was more than he could bare.
We were happy to hear of his meeting a widow who was mourning for her husband.
The 2 of them will spend the rest of the earthly time together, anticipating the reunion of their beloved spouses.
My good friend Heidi.
We walk together, go to the Temple together,
and love being there for each other.
These are our dear friends that we serve on Sundays with at Christmas Box House.
What an amazing blessing this calling has been to us. Love you Joy, Gary and Karen.
