waiting at the airport to leave for Chicago...eating breakfast.
Wouldn't you know it..We sat on the very back row going and coming back home...When Jake saw his seat he said to the flight attendant.."I'm going to need a coke on the rocks and a smile"..He said I'm used to first class ( that's true..Jake travels a lot)..The gal cracked up and she was our best friend the rest of the flight..To which Jake added" this isn't sky west this is Scare west"..He proceded to put the airplane blanket around his forhead like a terrorist..( nobody saw but us) He says to the flight attendant,"I like to keep my audiences rivoted"...seriously, the whole trip was all about Jake--isms..He has his own language.
O.K. getting on and off the train was a nightmare..Scary and you had to be quick on your toes...Joe looks like --What the? because he had to carry my bags and his..(he didn't have to.. he volunteered)
The cheesecake factory was right across the street from our hotel..So after we checked in we ate..
Ethan is thinkin Isn't my mommy so cute?

Great shopping and sight seeing...Justin and Joe were thinkin they missed their wives..
Beautiful tree right across from our hotel.
Playin games in the room...
chillin
This was the best place ever..If you ever go to Chicago you have to go to this Breakfast place..Jake said he heard it was good, and he was right..It was delicious..especially the swedish pancakes..While we were there, we saw Dennis Green an NFL coach, Rich Eisen from the NFL network and Deon Sanders from Prime time..(also a ex dallas cowboys player)..So my boys were in heaven.
Comin out of the hotel dressed for the game..
Joe was shoppin at the Bears pro shop..We waited outside because we were too hot..There was a full moon, crystal clear sky, but was it ever cold..Our seats and ground were icy and snowy.
We got to the game at around 4:30..But the game didn't start till 7:30 p.m.
This was in the paper the next day...Yeh!! we won, in over time.

The next day we went to the John Hancock Observatory..94 floors up..We could see Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin...The bldg..is tested to withstand winds of 132 mph.

We went to the field house museum..They had the aztec displays there..It was very interesting.
The dinosaurs name was Sue (no kidding)
Not only does Joe luv the Chicago Bears but he has had a fascination with bears his whole life..I luv this pic. of Joe lookin at one of his heroes..
We went to Mike Ditkas restaurant ..That was one of the highlights..The best food ever.We had pork chops, b-becue ribs, steak, rolls, salads, shrimp cocktail and banana cream pie and chocolate cake..Yum!!
Justin can't move after his meal..Ethan is showin him something on his phone..No excitement here!!
Waitin at the airport..We played rook for about 3 hrs..Our flight was delayed an hour and 1/2 because of the snow in SLC.. not too bad considering. we had perfect weather coming and going .
When you raise 5 sons, Sports become part of the parenting..Each son had a fav. NFL team and Fav. NBA team..Gift giving was so easy..Buy something in their fav. team..Happy sons..
JUSTIN--PITTSBURGH STEELERS
PEACH--DENVER BRONCOS
ETHAN--DALLAS COWBOYS
JAKE--OAKLAND RAIDERS
JOE--CHICAGO BEARS
Last summer Joe came up with this idea for his parents and the brothers to go to a real NFL game..(kind of a life long dream)...Because Joe has always loved the Chicago Bears, he designed a trip to Chicago that was absolutely one of the funnest things I have ever done..He arranged everything. We stayed at the Westin Hotel in downtown Chicago..on Michagan Ave.. along the magnificant mile..( very well known shopping area)..
We came home to this beautiful snow..We had a wonderful time..We missed the wives and appreciate so much their willingness to let the husbands go.... Next year we go to Dallas, Ethan's fav. team..For sure it won't be in December..We were trying to be good and not go to a sunday game..So the options weren't that many..

Let's just say the trip was great. It didn't even feel like we were "bear"ly there. HaHa. I will post my version of the trip. But what a great time we had. We missed ya Peach. To go on a trip with mom and dad and the brothers was awesome. Felt like old times except that boys were the ones planning, worrying, and making sure mom and dad were taken care of.
