Our house always has a flag flying..
The Heugly's love many things..But at the top of our list is country and family...Perhaps that's why we have chosen the 4th of July to have a "Heugly Family Reunion"..We have been doing this for about 8 years..
Each family pitches a tent in our yard and we have a sleepover..We have breakfast the next morning, which includes hash browns, bacon, muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, chocolate milk and Orange juice..
Leah, Emma and Colin
Amy and Beau
We always swim and have a wonderful lunch, which included Flank Teriyaki steak, Cheeseburgers and hot dogs on the grill...Potato salad, pasta salad, fresh fruit, chips and dip, baked beans, and little smokies ...
Mike, Sam and Kenna checkin out the food...
We dusted that off with homemade brownies, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream bars..
Kaeli and Christian
Dallas
We played pellet guns and shot each other in the front yard...We played games, and sat around and just talked, and watched the kids have fun...We usually have a movie outdoors but it was raining, so we watched them indoors..(Spider wick chronicles and Mr Magorium..)
Mckay and Andrew with the pellet guns
The kids did sparklers and then because of great neighbors, we were invited to watch their fireworks....They even brought out creamies for the kids..
The kids played on the zip line, played in the fort and playhouse, went down the giant slide, and had a wonderful time with each other..
Our front yard slide
Everyone was safe and we had no accidents.....(thank you thank you)
SOME MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF OUR 4TH OF JULY IN 2008:
1. It began with an invite from Rhonda and Dennis..They hosted a get together with the Nielsen's..Wally, Jill and Paige came from Denver for the weekend...Also we saw JJ. He flew in from Atlanta. It was so fun to see everyone. Grandma wonderful was there too... We always enjoy seeing Rachelle, Candisse and Lyndsey and all their cute kids...Rhonda had an unbelievable feast as usual...Justin and the kids stopped by and we all had lunch together...

2. Our 15 yr. old Granddaughter Mckinzie was unable to attend our party because of a needed surgery..She was in the hospital for 3 days...G-pa nd I went down to see her in the hospital on the 4th of July..Her room was filled with flowers and stuffed animals from family. We were praying for her all week-end..We love our Kinzie.. Her mom stayed at the hospital the entire time with her...We missed you guys..
3. On July 6th, Joe and Marci blessed their new baby son "Beau Charles"..It was a great way to end our holiday week-end....All together sharing a spiritual feast.. Reminding us all of what truly matters...
We hope all of you had a safe holiday, and pondered often how much we all love our country...
