My home is a refuge not only from the world, but from my worries, my troubles, my concerns. I like beautiful things around me. I like to be beautiful because it delights my eyes and my soul is lifted up.

If you build it...they will come..

When Mark and I bought (this) our "last home" to live in, We thought it would be a fun place for our kids and their kids...We were soooo right.
This stained glass is on our side fountain door..See the big "H"? Our last name is Heugly but the "H" stands for Haven...That's what we wanted, a Haven for all our gang..Also the name of our blog.

Yesterday was yet another fun day, and a reminder of why we bought this house.. .We try to get together once a month for a family dinner and to celebrate the month of family birthdays....Yesterday began at 3:00 sharp....We feasted on lots of comfort food..Lasagna, Chicken Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, olive and cheese bread...
The highlight of the day" for me" was when we all gathered on our big red couch and had F.H.E.
We had this "huge" couch custom made for our downstairs..We almost fit..Jake and liz's family weren't there yesterday, so we just about made it..

We had a song that was led by Emma and Autumn..Emma chose the opening song.."I am a child of God"..
Then Dallas and Mckenna said they had learned it in French and Spanish during primary...Dallas sang a solo in French.. and Mckenna sang the song in spanish.. It was so cool. The spirit was very strong.

Then it was time for "good news"..We went around the room and let every person tell us what is going on in their life..Their accomplishments, and awards, and callings in church, and promotions at work...I loved this part.Every person contributed..We clapped, we cheered and we expressed our love for one another..

After that we had carrot cake..Not a morsel left...Then it was off to play at g-mas and g-pas house...They split up and found their fav. things to do ..

We have a 40 ft. slide out front..It looks more scary than it really is..But when you put wax paper on it..Watch out--- Grease lightning.
The kids love dressing up, jumpin on the tramp, and climbing our big tree..

We had this fort built for the boys..but the girls love it too!!This playhouse came with the house..Mainly for the girls!!

Lots of room for Movies, castles, and games .. We have a table that is left out just for lincoln logs...The older and younger kids love this!!

Sometimes the fun is just too much!!!! we just need a little down time
We have a play room with toys for the younger kiddos
This is my fav. idea...I stole it from a friend..We bought a chalk board that is the size they have in school. We put it on one of our walls downstairs..They play school, draw pictures and leave love notes for me...

Mckenna, Dakota and Mike made a "circle of nature" yesterday...They gathered leaves and nuts and berries from the yard and created this on one of our patio tables..They did this on their own..Then they made up this poem:

Circle of nature--

Falling leaves in the breeze!
berrys, pinecones in the trees.
Spotted, striped and speckled too.
Almost done and almost through!
Anyway to finish up!
Let's get cocoa in a cup!!
How cute is that??

It was another fun day together !!! Beau pretty much sums up the day with this pose...

oh my gosh, you have a rockin' fun haven on earth! and uh, scuse me but what are you doing in my home??

LOL, so fun so fun, we have a lot of fun things here at the house fo the children to do and play with. Our home is the house where all the neighborhood kids are. Sometimes we have 13 kids all over the place and it can get a bit aggravating too. but, i would rather have them here than somewhere else.

Our kids will grow up with many memories of dinners, parties, swimming, playing, and getting together. But best of all, they will grow up to be best friends with their cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma, and grandpa. Thanks for everything you do for us...
We had a lot of fun with you guys this weekend!

I think my family was going through withdrawals not having a party for about 6-7 weeks. Looking at all these pictures I can't imagine why they'd feel that way.

Thank you MOM and DAD for having the perfect Haven for our family
